The Blue Margarita, also known as the Blue Lagoon Margarita, is a colorful twist on the classic Margarita. It's made vibrant with the addition of blue curaçao, which also adds a subtle orange flavor to the tangy and sweet lime base.

Equipment

  • Margarita glass
  • Shaker
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Citrus Juicer (optional)
  • Knife and cutting board (for lime)

Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz Tequila 60 ml
  • 1 oz Blue Curaçao 30 ml
  • 1 oz Fresh lime juice 30 ml
  • 1/2 oz Triple Sec 15 ml
  • 1 cup Ice 240 ml or 236.58 grams
  • Salt for rimming the glass
  • Lime wheel or wedge, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Rub the rim of a chilled margarita glass with a lime wedge and dip in salt to coat the rim.
  • Fill a shaker with ice and add the tequila, blue curaçao, fresh lime juice, and triple sec.
  • Shake well until the outside of the shaker feels cold.
  • Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with ice.
  • Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge.

Notes

For a sweeter Blue Margarita, you can add a splash of simple syrup. Adjust the amount of blue curaçao if you prefer a lighter or deeper blue color. Always use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.
