The Chavela is a refreshing Mexican cocktail that combines beer with tomato juice and a medley of spices, creating a vibrant and savory drink perfect for warm weather or as a unique brunch option.
12ozlight Mexican beer(such as Corona or Pacifico)
4oztomato juice
1ozfresh lime juice
1tsphot sauce(such as Valentina or Tabasco)
1tspWorcestershire sauce
1/4tspground black pepper
1/4tspground cumin
1/4tspchili powder
salt(for rimming the glass)
lime wedge(for garnish)
ice cubes
Instructions
Start by rimming a tall glass with lime juice and then dip the rim into salt to coat it evenly.
In a separate container, combine the tomato juice, fresh lime juice, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, cumin, and chili powder. Stir well to mix all the ingredients thoroughly.
Fill the prepared glass with ice cubes to your liking.
Pour the tomato juice mixture over the ice, then slowly add the light Mexican beer, allowing it to mix gently with the juice.
Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim of the glass. Serve immediately and enjoy!
