Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz Rye Whiskey
  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • 1/4 oz Absinthe
  • 1/2 oz Benedictine
  • 2 dashes Peychaud's Bitters
  • 1 dash Angostura Bitters
  • Ice cubes
  • Maraschino cherry for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Begin by chilling a cocktail glass by filling it with ice water. Let it sit while you prepare the drink.
  • In a mixing glass, combine the rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, absinthe, Benedictine, Peychaud's bitters, and Angostura bitters.
  • Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir the mixture for about 30 seconds until well chilled.
  • Discard the ice water from the cocktail glass and strain the mixture into the glass using a fine mesh strainer.
  • Garnish with a maraschino cherry, dropping it into the drink or placing it on a skewer.

Notes

This cocktail is best served cold and can be adjusted to taste by altering the amount of sweet vermouth or bitters. The use of high-quality rye whiskey will enhance the overall flavor profile.
