Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz aged rum
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz orange curaçao
  • 1/2 oz orgeat syrup
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup

Garnish

  • mint leaves for garnish
  • lime wheel for garnish
  • crushed ice

Instructions
 

  • Fill a shaker with crushed ice.
  • Add the aged rum, fresh lime juice, orange curaçao, orgeat syrup, and simple syrup to the shaker.
  • Shake well until the mixture is chilled (about 15-20 seconds).
  • Fill a double old-fashioned glass with crushed ice.
  • Strain the shaken mixture over the ice in the glass.
  • Garnish with a sprig of mint and a lime wheel.
  • Serve with a straw and enjoy!

Notes

For an authentic experience, use high-quality aged rum and fresh lime juice. The Mai Tai can be adapted with various rums and garnishes, but this recipe reflects the traditional approach.
