The Mexican 75 is a vibrant twist on the classic French 75, incorporating the bright flavors of tequila and fresh lime juice. This refreshing cocktail is perfect for warm evenings and festive occasions.
Begin by chilling a champagne flute or coupe glass by filling it with ice water. Set aside while you prepare the cocktail.
In a shaker, combine the tequila, fresh lime juice, and agave syrup. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
Discard the ice water from your chilled glass. Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the mixture into the glass.
Carefully top the strained mixture with the sparkling wine, pouring slowly to avoid overflow.
Add a lime wheel or twist on the rim of the glass for an elegant touch.
Notes
For a sweeter cocktail, adjust the amount of agave syrup to taste. This drink can also be made with flavored tequila for an additional twist.
