  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • Ice cubes

Instructions
 

  • Begin by chilling a coupe or martini glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail.
  • In a mixing glass, add the mezcal or tequila, sweet vermouth, and dashes of Angostura bitters.
  • Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes, allowing for proper dilution as you stir.
  • Stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled and combined.
  • Discard the ice water from your chilled glass. Using a fine mesh strainer, pour the mixture into the glass.
  • Express the oils from an orange twist over the drink and drop it in as a garnish.

Notes

Experiment with different types of mezcal or tequila to find your preferred flavor profile. The choice of sweet vermouth can also alter the sweetness and complexity of the drink.
