Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz Mezcal
  • 1 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 oz Orange liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 1/2 oz Agave syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wheel, for garnish
  • Salt for rimming the glass

Instructions
 

  • Rim a rocks glass with salt by rubbing a lime wedge around the edge and dipping it into a plate of salt.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  • Add the mezcal, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, and agave syrup to the shaker.
  • Shake well until the outside of the shaker feels cold, about 15-20 seconds.
  • Strain the mixture into the prepared rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a lime wheel.

Notes

For a less sweet Mezcalita, adjust the agave syrup to taste. The type of mezcal used can significantly alter the cocktail's smokiness and overall flavor profile, so choose according to personal preference.
