Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz Bourbon or Rye Whiskey 60 ml
  • 1 Sugar Cube or 1/2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 2-3 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • Few dashes plain water
  • Ice cubes
  • Orange twist for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Place the sugar cube in a rocks glass and saturate with bitters, add a dash of plain water.
  • Muddle the sugar, water, and bitters until the sugar is almost dissolved.
  • Fill the glass with large ice cubes, add the whiskey.
  • Stir the cocktail until it is well chilled, about 30 seconds.
  • Garnish with an orange twist.

Notes

For a smoother sweetness, simple syrup can be used instead of a sugar cube. The type of whiskey used can alter the flavor profile, with bourbon being sweeter and rye offering a spicier kick.
