Peruvian Negroni

A twist on the classic Negroni, the Peruvian Negroni swaps out the traditional gin for Pisco, a Peruvian grape brandy, adding a unique South American flavor to this beloved cocktail.

Equipment

  • Mixing glass

Ingredients
  

  • 1 oz Pisco
  • 1 oz Campari
  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • Ice cubes
  • Orange peel, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Add Pisco, Campari, and Sweet Vermouth to a mixing glass filled with ice.
  • Stir well for about 30 seconds or until the mixture is well-chilled.
  • Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
  • Twist an orange peel over the glass to release its oils and then drop it into the cocktail as a garnish.

Notes

The Pisco used should be of good quality to ensure the best flavor profile for the Peruvian Negroni. Additionally, while the classic Negroni is garnished with an orange slice, the zest twist is preferred here to accentuate the Peruvian Pisco's floral notes.
