Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz Dark Rum
  • 3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1/2 oz Simple Syrup (1:1 sugar to water ratio)
  • 6-8 Fresh Mint Leaves
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • Crushed Ice

Instructions
 

  • In a tall glass, muddle the fresh mint leaves gently to release their oils. Be careful not to tear them too much.
  • Add the fresh lime juice and simple syrup to the glass.
  • Pour in the dark rum and add crushed ice to fill the glass.
  • Using a swizzle stick or a bar spoon, swizzle the mixture vigorously to combine the ingredients and chill the drink.
  • Top off the glass with more crushed ice, if necessary.
  • Add two dashes of Angostura bitters on top.
  • Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint for aroma and presentation.

Notes

For an extra touch of sweetness, you can adjust the amount of simple syrup to taste. This cocktail is best enjoyed on a warm day, making it a perfect choice for summer gatherings or tropical-themed parties.
