Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz dark rum
  • 1 oz Falernum
  • 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Crushed ice
  • Grated nutmeg for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with crushed ice.
  • Add the dark rum, Falernum, fresh lime juice, and Angostura bitters to the shaker.
  • Shake vigorously until well chilled.
  • Strain into a chilled double old-fashioned glass filled with crushed ice.
  • Garnish with a sprinkle of grated nutmeg on top.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

Falernum is a sweet syrup used in Caribbean and tropical drinks. It contains flavors of almond, ginger, lime, and sometimes vanilla or cloves. If Falernum is not available, you can substitute it with a homemade mix of simple syrup, almond extract, and a touch of ground cloves or allspice.
