Rum Julep
A refreshing twist on the classic Mint Julep, the Rum Julep substitutes bourbon with rum for a Caribbean flair. Its combination of minty freshness and the sweetness of rum makes it a perfect cocktail for warm weather sipping.

Fresh mint leaves
plus extra for garnish

teaspoons
sugar
10g / 0.35 oz

rum
75 ml
Crushed ice
Splash of water

Instructions
Place the mint leaves and sugar into a julep cup or highball glass.
Muddle the mint and sugar together until the leaves begin to break down.
Fill the glass with crushed ice.
Add the rum over the ice.
If desired, add a splash of water to dilute and stir well.
Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.
Serve with a straw.
Notes
For a less sweet version, reduce the sugar or use a sugar syrup. Dark rum can be used for a deeper flavor profile.
