Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz White Rum
  • 3/4 oz Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 3/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 oz Simple Syrup optional, for added sweetness
  • Ice Cubes
  • Lemon Twist for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  • Pour the white rum, Cointreau, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup (if using) into the shaker.
  • Shake well until the mixture is well chilled, about 15-20 seconds.
  • Strain the cocktail into a chilled cocktail glass.
  • Garnish with a twist of lemon peel.

Notes

The simple syrup is optional depending on your preference for sweetness. Adjust the amount to suit your taste. For a more authentic experience, rim the glass with sugar before pouring the cocktail.
