  • Rocks glass

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Tequila preferably reposado
  • 1 oz Campari
  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • Ice cubes
  • Orange peel for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes.
  • Pour in the tequila, Campari, and sweet vermouth.
  • Stir the ingredients together until well-chilled, about 30 seconds.
  • Strain into a rocks glass filled with large ice cubes.
  • Express the orange peel over the cocktail by twisting it to release the oils, then drop it into the glass as a garnish.

Notes

For a smoother taste, opt for a reposado tequila which has been aged in oak barrels. The aging process imparts a mellow oak flavor that complements the bitter and herbal notes of the Campari and vermouth.
