Tequila Sunset
A vibrant and refreshing cocktail that captures the beauty of a sunset in a glass, the Tequila Sunset is a fruity and slightly sweeter cousin of the popular Tequila Sunrise. This drink is perfect for sipping as the day winds down.
Equipment
- Highball glass
- spoon
- Jigger
- Knife
Ingredients
- 2 oz Tequila
- 4 oz Orange Juice
- 1/2 oz Blackberry Brandy
- 1/2 oz Grenadine
- Ice Cubes
- Orange Slice for garnish
- Cherry for garnish
Instructions
- Fill a chilled highball glass with ice cubes.
- Pour the tequila and orange juice into the glass.
- Stir well to mix the tequila and orange juice together.
- Slowly pour the blackberry brandy over the back of a spoon to float it on top of the drink.
- Add the grenadine by drizzling it over the back of a spoon or pouring it down the side of the glass so that it settles at the bottom.
- Garnish with an orange slice and a cherry.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Adjust the amount of grenadine to suit your sweetness preference. The layers of color in the Tequila Sunset should resemble a sunset, with the grenadine at the bottom representing the setting sun.
