Vodka B52

A fiery and layered shot, the Vodka B52 is a variation of the classic B52 cocktail. It traditionally consists of a layered blend of coffee liqueur, Irish cream, and orange liqueur, but this version adds a vodka twist for an extra kick.

Equipment

  • Shot glass
  • Bar spoon or teaspoon
  • Lighter (optional, for flaming)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 oz Kahlúa (coffee liqueur)
  • 1/2 oz Irish cream (e.g., Baileys)
  • 1/2 oz Orange liqueur (e.g., Grand Marnier)
  • 1/2 oz Vodka

Instructions

  • Pour the Kahlúa into a shot glass to create the first layer.
  • Very gently float the Irish cream on top of the Kahlúa by pouring it over the back of a spoon to create the second layer.
  • Carefully float the orange liqueur on top of the Irish cream layer using the same method.
  • Finally, top with a layer of vodka, poured gently over the back of a spoon.
  • Ignite the top layer with a lighter, if desired, for a flaming effect. Blow out the flame before drinking.

Notes

Always use caution when igniting alcohol. Do not pour the shot while it is on fire, and ensure the flame is fully extinguished before consumption. Layering requires a steady hand and patience; the drink's visual appeal is part of its charm.
