In a cocktail shaker, combine the vodka, orange curacao, orgeat syrup, and fresh lime juice. Add ice to the shaker.
Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
Strain the mixture into the prepared rocks glass filled with crushed ice.
Carefully pour the dark rum over the back of a spoon to float it on top of the drink.
