Vodka Sangria

Ingredients

bottle
dry red wine
750 ml – approximately 25.4 ounces
1/2
cup
vodka
120 ml
1/4

orange liqueur
such as Cointreau or Triple Sec, 60 ml

tbsp
freshly squeezed lemon juice
30 ml

tbsp
simple syrup
equal parts sugar and water, 30 ml

orange
thinly sliced
1
lemon
thinly sliced
1
lime
thinly sliced
1
apple
cored and chopped
1
cup
fresh berries
such as strawberries or raspberries, 150 g
Ice cubes
for serving
Club soda or sparkling water
optional for topping up
Instructions
In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, vodka, orange liqueur, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
Add the sliced orange, lemon, lime, chopped apple, and berries to the mixture.
Stir well to combine and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, allowing the flavors to meld. For best results, let it sit for 2-4 hours.
When ready to serve, stir the sangria again and taste for sweetness, adjusting if necessary.
Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the sangria over the ice, making sure to include some fruit in each glass.
If desired, top each glass with a splash of club soda or sparkling water for some added fizz.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, replace the wine and vodka with grape juice and a splash of lemon-lime soda. Adjust the sweetness as needed.
