Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz mezcal
  • 4 oz tomato juice
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 dashes hot sauce or to taste
  • salt Pinch of
  • freshly ground black pepper Pinch of
  • smoked paprika Pinch of (optional)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon wedge and a celery stalk for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing glass, combine the mezcal, tomato juice, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika (if using).
  • Fill the glass with ice and roll the contents back and forth between another glass or shaker to mix well without creating too much dilution.
  • Strain the mixture into an ice-filled highball glass.
  • Garnish with a lemon wedge and a celery stalk.
  • Adjust seasoning and hot sauce to taste, if needed.

Notes

The smokiness of mezcal can vary significantly between brands. Choose a mezcal that suits your preference for a more or less pronounced smoky character in your Bloody Maria.
